The Real Game Series
The Real Game Series

The Real Game is a series of classroom-based programmes developed to help students learn more about themselves and both the opportunities and the responsibilities of adult life in a fun and constructive way. Students learn:

  • the importance of education and qualifications in getting the jobs they want;
  • how occupational choice impacts upon lifestyle;
  • how to balance monthly income and leisure time; and
  • the roles and responsibilities of the community.

The resources deliver a comprehensive and progressive programme covering learning outcomes for Citizenship; Personal Social & Health Education (PSHE); Careers Education and Guidance (CEG); Work Related Learning (WRL) and Enterprise. They can be used and adapted for KS2, KS3, KS4 and post 16 students.

A key attribute of the resources is their flexibility. They can be used as an individual subject resource, cross curricula for personal development (particularly where timetable allocation is limited) or as part of an enrichment programme or careers events.

The games in the series are individual and can be adapted to meet time table allocation. Each comes complete with:

  • Comprehensive lesson plans
  • Links to QCA curriculum learning outcomes
  • Quality, colourful support materials

There are 3 games in the series currently available in the UK. The Make it Real and Be Real games are in hard copy and include photocopiable masters to produce students worksheets. The Real Game is web based. Teachers have the option of playing the Real Game online with students accessing interactive worksheets or offline using printed handouts.
